Be sure to mark your calendars for the annual traditional hometown festival and tree lighting ceremony.   The Xfinity Festival of Lights kicks off the Holiday Season Downtown all along Fourth Street from Railroad to Jefferson. Presented by Sprouts Farmers Market, The Foundry, First National Bank and LPR Construction.

Join in the candle lit caroling procession as it strolls through Fourth Street, from Railroad Ave to the Main Stage, where Santa Claus will arrive to count down the twenty-five-foot tree coming to life as the center of Fourth Street for the Holiday Season.

Stages filled with entertainment and live music will be spread through the festival.  A “holiday spirits” beer garden featuring local breweries, wine and local music will fill the air from Lincoln to Jefferson.  A family friendly area will engage audiences young and old with traditional holiday characters, princesses and even a dancing Christmas tree.
Carriage and wagon rides, hot chocolate and smores, a local pop-up art market, and a little bit of something for everyone.

A Santa Hat Scavenger Hunt will invite the first 500 participants to visit various downtown businesses to add a festive decoration to their hat. An event you won't want to miss!

the 2017 Festival of Lights was held
Wed., Nov. 29, 2017

We stepped into the magic of the holidays with the traditional Downtown Loveland tree-lighting ceremony and 2nd Annual Festival of Lights.

The Festival of Lights, presented by the Loveland Downtown Partnership brought holiday fun with the lighting a 24-foot Christmas Tree, entertainment and treats on Wednesday, November 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This one-night event kicked off the holidays with a candlelight sing-along, and beautifully-lit Downtown District with bright snowflakes and garland, that captured everyone’s delight. The festivities took place on Fourth Street, between Jefferson and Railroad Avenues, with a fun family-friendly area between Lincoln and Jefferson and another area for the adults with a kid's heart between Cleveland and Railroad featuring a music stage, local breweries, a winery and food.

At 5pm we gathered in front of the Loveland Museum/Gallery at Fifth Street and Lincoln, where the first 500 attendees received a Glow Candle and glo-in-the-dark face painting. A barbershop quartet led a caroling parade to the Rialto Square for the tree lighting. We enjoyed the Loveland Chorale Society as they sang a delightful mix of sacred, secular and jazzy holiday carols.

Christmas Tree on 4th Street, Festival of Lights, Downtown Loveland ColoradoAt 6 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived and, along with the Mayor, led the countdown for the lighting of the Christmas Tree. Throughout the celebration we created memories, warmed up with hot chocolate, made S’mores around warm crackling fires, went on a horse-drawn carriage rides, sang with carolers, met a Disney Snow Princess and watched a Christmas Tale come to life.

Father Christmas and other fun holiday characters visited with children young and old.

In the spirit of giving and support for our community, many brought donations of needed supplies and personal items for the 137 Homeless Connection.
